The first time you turn on your BlackBerry Playbook request a software update. Will not take long and will provide the latest software to keep you up to date. Upgrading the software is easy and only requires a few steps, but check out this quick tutorial to make sure what you're doing well. We will also see some of the options under the software update screen under the options menu.
Upgrading the BlackBerry Playbook
Step 1 - Download
First, the software will be downloaded to your device. The update should be about 200MB so I sit quiet and wait.
Step 2 - Install
When finished downloading the software is installed on your device. Be sure not to turn off your computer during this process.
Step 3 - Restart
When installation is complete you will need to restart your device.
Step 4 - Finish
After the computer restarts you will see the confirmation screen that you have successfully updated your device.
Menu Options - Software Updates
After the initial update can check for new versions of software from the software update screen. You can also find information about your current software updates and more.
The software update screen (optional) allows users to search, download and install software updates to your computer.
If an update is available see the following:
- Available software
- Size of the software update
- If the update requires a restart
- A description of the update
